Mother's Day Plant Sale to Benefit Med Clinics

The DRMT is sponsoring a Mother's Day plant sale fundraiser where all proceeds will benefit the Batey Mobile Medical Clinics. Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 12, 2013, and all orders must be submitted by Sunday, May, 5th.

Potted hanging baskets with a variety of plants (Geranium, Petunia, New Guinea Impatiens and Begonia) will be pre-order; whichever is growing best at the time. Plants will be available for pickup at First Baptist Church on Saturday, May 11, from 11am-2pm for pickup.

2013 Rice and Beans Challenge

Come be part of the Fulfilling Smiles first annual Rice and Beans Challenge, set for May 5 – 11, 2013.  Anyone who feels motivated and passionate will change their normal eating habits for a week and donate the savings from their grocery bill to support Fulfilling Smile's goal of feeding more than 500 families this summer.

DR Mission Team Fundraiser Attracts 1,000+

The 2013 DR Mission Team presents:  

"Had we not gone . . ."

Based on Isaiah 6:8:  "Then I heard the Lord’s voice, saying, 'Whom can I send? Who will go for us?' So I said, “Here I am. Send me!”

The annual DR Mission Team fundraising concert, dinner, and silent auction was held on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Lyman Hall High School in Wallingford. Over 1,000 people turned out for a fabulous dinner, an inspring show, and a spectacular silent auction.

Next meeting for 2013 DR Mission Trips

The next meeting for the 2013 mission trips to La Romana, DR will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2013, 2 pm, at First Baptist Church, Wallingford. All planning on being part of these trips are strongly encouraged to attend.
By this meeting, $650 should be in each individual's account as well as completion of the 2013 application. This is needed for all to hold your spot for this summer's teams. As in the past, it is expected that space will fill up very quickly.

The PERFECT Christmas gift! Buy an ornament to support Fulfilling Smiles, where local Connecticut volunteers will personally deliver food to the hungry in the Dominican Republic.

Donate $10 and receive a special ornament.

100% of proceeds will go directly to feed the poor in the bateyes.

Fulfilling Smiles is a ministry of Dominican Republic Mission Team that provides food and hope for the very poor.

Scholarships Available for 2013 Dominican Republic Mission Team Trip

The Wallingford Rotary Club is again offering three $500 scholarships for Wallingford teenagers to be part of the 2013 Wallingford Dominican Republic Mission Team. To be eligible, students must between 15 - 19 years old by July 1, 2013, and their primary residence must be Wallingford, Connecticut, or a full-time student in Wallingford. The deadline for submitting the application is December 5, 2012, and this summer's mission trip to the Dominican Republic is set for Friday, June 28 to Sunday, July 7, 2013.
