“Fulfilling Smiles” – a program of the Dominican Republic Mission Team – offers a unique opportunity to help solve the problem of hunger and starvation in one of the poorest areas of the world. In July of 2010, Fulfilling Smiles provided three weeks of food to over 600 families in the very poor Haitian sugar cane villages of the DR. The long-term goal is to provide for the immediate needs of these families as well as the nutritional opportunities and education they need to sustain themselves.
