Today is the last work day of the trip and boy did we have our work cut out for us. We need to complete the cement pour for the elevator shaft all in one day. All three construction teams A, A-1 and B were on site. The work day got off to a late start, but once we starting rolling we were pumping out the cement mix like a machine. We went through 100 cement bags and poured the equivalent of 4 cement trucks worth of mix (approximately 60 cubic yards). Two sections of the elevator shaft have been completed during our week - the most a missionary team has ever accomplished within that time period! It was an exhausting day, but probably the most rewarding. Many people on the team enjoyed having ‘all hands on deck’. After our hard work was complete, we spent the evening at the beach for some R&R. It was a much needed rest. Later that night we were entertained by the dynamic Maranatha Band (and soon to be performing this August in Wallingford).
