Med Clinic worked on a small batey today, and provided much needed care for the sick and injured. They see many unfortunate children and adults that are malnourished and do not have clean food and water. Our two Toms (Tom Oppelt and Tom Collette) are working on the much needed water purification system which filters out the bacteria and makes the unclean water, drinkable. Much of the water in the bateys are unclean and cause the people to become ill and possibly die. The water filters will prevent the bacteria from ‘dirting’ their drinking water and reduce illness. Teams A and A-1 continued to haul up cement, dirt and stone for preparation of our upcoming ‘big mix’ day on Friday, when all the teams will support the cement mixing and pouring. Team B worked hard painting the school on batey Higerain record time! Later that evening we went to Pizza de Rio, a new favorite eating spot on the Romana River.
