Today was our first work day of the 2007 trip. It's usually a day set for preparation and organization - a semi relaxed day, but not this year. There was a lot to do and little time. Teams A-1 and B set out to work miscellaneous projects on one of the bateys and Team A worked on cementing the walls of the new elevator shaft. Once we realized how much work was involved at the Hospital, we needed to bring back Teams A-1 and B. We were hoisting up bags of cement with a pully, mixing the cement with sand and gravel, and passing buckets of the cement up an assembly line to workers on the scalfle, who poured the cement mix down the elevator shaft walls. After our work was complete, we headed to the ball field in one of the bateys to play a game of softball.
